I had been worried she was going to end up broken down into something else, but I think I've got the basic silhouette sorted now. I'm really quite happy with how she's shaping up now though.
I also had a crazy idea for using the end tail segment of that Fujimi crayfish kit as the basis for her head- the shape is actually quite similar to the FW Hierodule's noggin. I'm thinking I might integrate the spray into the mouth, but we'll see. Speaking of claws, whilst it needs some sculpting to blend it into the arm, I gave her a talon on her right forelimb- for one thing this works quite well with the whole "fiddler crab"/asymmetrical look I was aiming for, and for another I can see it serving a functional purpose, with the big claw working as a crushing/grabbing weapon whilst the thinner talon can be used for stabbing and impaling.Īside from some more putty work to clean up the joins, I still need to work out what I'm doing with the head and her acid spray. I want it quite weighty looking as I can see it serving as a counterweight for her massive claws. However, I had mixed up far too much putty (again) for something else and used the remainder to work on her the tail is mostly roughed in! I need to sand it smoother and work out what I'm going to tip it with though I kinda want to give her a big tail weapon of some form but I'm torn between a toxic stinger, a heavy bludgeon or something else altogether.
Back to our regularly scheduled #tyranid content, with the triumphant return of my kitbashed #hierodule! This had been languishing on the back burner for a while now, as other projects took my attention.
